Still life “white on white” is a fairly common task in artistic practice. In such still lifes, the artist encounters many color and tone nuances and, therefore, learns to work with them. And if you add an object of saturated color to such a still life, further emphasizing the whiteness of the surroundings, then a game with reflexes, reflections and contrast appears. In the first, free, part of the lesson we will paint a small still life of one or two objects displayed against the background of draperies. In the main part we will paint a still life in white tones with the addition of an object of a bright, contrasting color. We will work based on a live production in the studio.

Learning outcome:
– Hear about the basic rules for constructing a still life composition;
– You will see that every white object, although called “white,” has its own shade, its own color, its own texture;
– Learn to work with saturation, light tones, shine and matte within the same spectrum;
– Get acquainted with the techniques and methods of transmitting white color on a white background;
– Write an unusual still life based on a live performance in the studio.
