Description : This course is a comprehensive demonstration of how to effectively use ZBrush to create a hyper-realistic character. Hossein Diba provides an in-depth analysis of his workflow, tools and techniques, using wrestler Steve Austin as the character under study. Sculpting a realistic character starts with a low-quality base mesh, then proceeds to sculpting basic shapes, where Hossein focuses on enhancing the base mesh and sculpting indicative anatomical details such as ears and nose on the head. Then he starts to process the secondary forms. While improving muscle shape and facial anatomy, the author analyzes the reference in detail to complete the facial resemblance. Third-order details are added using alpha channels and various brush techniques – small wrinkles and pores that give the skin the final element of realism. Once the cast is complete, Hossein shows how to use fibermesh to create facial hair and draws the base texture using polygon painting. And finally, the character is posed by the transposition master, and the render for the presentation is created using render passes from ZBrush, which are processed in Photoshop. Artists of all levels interested in creating realistic 3D characters will be inspired by this masterful demo from Hossein Diba, who generously shares his experiences, thoughts and techniques.
