Description:
Greetings, dear Heroes Infinite member!
This month’s release is special to me because it takes us back to adventures with Mortenburg’s characters and some personal memories.
With this episode, I wanted to treat myself and revisit the RPG universe that has deeply inspired me and in which I have played many gaming sessions that I still cherish to this day.
A city through which countless caravans full of greedy traders passed. A city full of ambitious crooks, sinister cults and filthy rich nobles. In short, a place full of opportunities to immerse players in adventureslike something out of an adult version of Aladdin.
I really enjoyed creating stories in this world.
And while I was thinking about the topic for the April issue, it seemed logical that the people of Mortenburg would stop at an outpost city on their way from Va’kuras. A city that they would use as a stronghold, located in an area reminiscent of the Mediterranean shores, on the border with a legendary country full of cursed tombs of semi-divine beings from other dimensions.
I hope to develop this setting in the future – a place on the border of West and East – so that I can finally share with you some of the adventures that I created for my players almost 30 years ago. I recently came across the recordings of those sessions and realized that there are still too many untapped ideas in them not to share.
In tonight’s episode, it looks like they’re looking into a place they really should have left alone. A place best left unexplored. And again the dark gods with chaotic, destructive plans unleash their rage on them.
Since you’ve often asked us for expansions to our previous Egyptian Gods themed release, I thought this would be the perfect time to weave some Egyptian references into this hellish, colorful faction.
I also had the pleasure of realizing a long-standing personal dream that has lasted for over thirty years – to transform a creature from a Salvador Dali painting into a fantasy version suitable for a miniature game.
I’m talking, of course, about Maktur, a mutant elephant with outrageously long legs.
Of course, I couldn’t make him as slender and tall as Dali’s original, but I hope his weirdness will win you over and he’ll become a formidable opponent on your gaming table.
