Description:
FastFlix is a simple and user-friendly GUI for video encoding. The program preserves HDR10 metadata for x265, NVEncC HEVC and VCEEncC HEVC, which will also be expanded to AV1 libraries when they become available. To do the heavy lifting, it requires FFmpeg (version 4.3 or higher, you’ll be prompted to download it the first time you run it), which can work with a variety of encoders.
- To work, you need a set of FFmpeg libraries, which can be downloaded after starting the program (the program will offer to perform this action automatically, you just need to agree).
To change the interface language, you need to open “File → Settings” and vice versa “Language” select the desired language. Next, click on the “Save” button to save the settings. Restart the application.
FastFlix preserves HDR10 metadata for x265, NVEncC HEVC and VCEEncC HEVC, which will be expanded to AV1 in the future.
You can configure bitrate, bit depth, CRF, number of frames per second, use optimization, select codec type, apply quality parameters. All settings are grouped into tabs. Separately, you can make settings for video, audio, edit subtitles, and customize the cover. Advanced settings are included in a separate tab. Information on the current video file is also shown (codec type, video resolution, profile, etc.).
It is possible to select a profile for video encoding and create your own profiles. After the start, you can observe the conversion process in detail.
- Portable version provided by the developer. It starts with the appearance of a console window and loading of the FFmpeg libraries. Do not close the console window. When it is closed, the program itself automatically closes.
