Description : In this workshop, Bruno Tornisielo will show his approach to completely (from scratch) designing women’s hairstyles using the XGen and Arnold modules from the Maya package.
The instructor will start by creating simple hair on a sphere to demonstrate the fundamental principles and tools of XGen. Then, Bruno will go over everything about curves and modifiers, explaining how to make curls, undercuts, random variations and bunches. Next, he will explain the nuances of his approach to creating ponytail hairstyles, which, in particular, will illustrate why it is better to work with layers throughout the hair styling process.
Finally, Bruno will demonstrate how modifiers work on each layer as an example, show the lighting / lighting setup, shader nuances, and finally show you how to get a good final render in Arnold.
