Description:
Dashcam Viewer is a modern and advanced video manager, adapted for action cameras or car DVRs.
Using the program, the user has the opportunity not only to view the shooting files themselves, but also to receive a whole list of additional information “hardwired” into the videos.
- The first and key function of the application is to play video recordings made by a recorder or another camera of this type on the main part of the screen, while secondary sections of the interface at this moment display secondary shooting parameters. These data include movement speed, direction, distance and position in space. In addition, Dashcam Viewer can show shock sensor data if it is installed in the camera, as well as a number of geo-parameters.
It should be noted that information from GPS trackers can be exported to a separate file for subsequent playback in CSV or GPX format.
You can do the same with a video recording divided into separate videos – it can be exported or combined into a common file for ease of use.
As for advanced devices capable of accumulating specific information while moving, Dashcam Viewer is adapted to their capabilities, displaying the following data:
• compass azimuth;
• recording time;
• rise relative to sea level;
• number of available satellites;
• signal strength;
• latitude, longitude, altitude.
All received data can be transferred to the map window, thanks to which the program will build the route traveled on it, and also allow the user to add any necessary geo-tags. Moreover, clicking on any of the route points will automatically start the saved video recording exactly from the moment of passing this point. Both Google Maps and Mapquest maps are available for reference, and the user can easily switch between a street map and satellite imagery as a background.
As for the initially key section with watching videos, the player for this purpose can be called simple but functional – it has all the necessary options, including a convenient playlist with the ability to edit. Dashcam Viewer supports over 70 types of DVRs and action cameras.
Available models include brands such as Garmin, Karkam, MiVue, Polaroid and others.
