This workshop is designed for intermediate artists with some prior knowledge of working with Maya, ZBrush, and Unreal Engine. Giovani starts by sketching out initial ideas in Photoshop, then creates a modular set of Maya assets. He discusses his approach to creating tiles, trim sheets, tileable textures, and meshes, and then demonstrates how to create other assets such as rocks and props using ZBrush.
To finish off this workshop, Giovani builds a house and environment in Unreal Engine 5. He also assembles a piece of natural environment to demonstrate the entire process of creating organic landscapes, giving tips for creating a complete environment using Unreal Engine.
The workshop focuses primarily on creating the assets needed to create a game environment. Substance Designer graphs and Unreal materials are shown throughout the course, but are not covered step-by-step.
